Cinematography Class Film Portrait Project
Fri Apr 25 2025 9:00AM – 3:00PM
Event Description:
FROM INSTRUCTOR, MATTHEW SMITH: In my cinematography class we are working on a class project which will require us to film portraits with a sky background. I would like to shoot them on the upper deck of double ground (access to the clear sky). We will need access to electricity to run the camera and computer we are using for the shoot and access to running water as in a hose. Not much water, maybe about 20 seconds of running hose per shot and a total of about 20 shots. The running water would only be turned on while the camera is running. I can be responsible for controlling the water use. We are trying to shoot portraits at very high frame rates (slow motion). JJ NOTES: Matthew is aware that he will need to supply his own power cord and hose, and that he need to coordinate with Facilities to turn on the spigot. April 18 is the primary date for the shoot, with April 25th being a back up. Matthew is aware that the 25th is also a date that the MFA students will be installing on the upper level, so there needs to be coordination if he ends up using that date.
